Watering Your Lawn is Very important!

Recent rainfall has helped. 1 to 3 inches fell this past weekend but, some areas are receiving rainfall from thunderstorms while other areas are extremely dry. Central Virginia is more than seven inches behind year to date. It is important at this time of year to water 1.5 to 2 inches. Green areas are receiving sufficient water while areas which are brown or tan are not getting watered properly. Please check these areas with a screw driver to see moisture content. September and October are the driest months of the year so please make every effort to water your lawn.

Henrico County recently changed rules regarding water restrictions in our favor. During the fall, if the lawn is seeded and aerated by "motorized" means, then watering can be done daily for thirty days. This is a big change but will allow Virginia Green to continue to aerate and seed even if water restrictions are in effect. We worked with several other lawn care companies, Henrico County, and the Virginia DEQ to make all this happen.

It's Time to Aerate and Seed Your Lawn...

Aeration and Seeding Season is here. With the hot and dry summer we've had, now is the time to aerate and overseed. By now you have received your seeding letter, so with limited weeks available call now to reserve your spot on the schedule. If you have not been watering, now is the time to start. The ground needs to be well watered to get the most from the aeration and overseeding.

Virginia Green Lawn Care will start aerating lawns the first week in September. Seed germination may take up to thirty days. It is very important that you follow the instructions provided to get the best germination possible. We will notify you 10 to 14 days before your scheduled date via email, and re-email you 2 days prior to your schedule date. If there is a conflict with your date, please call as early as possible so we can get you rescheduled.
