Central VA Area is 6 Inches Behind in Yearly Rainfall...

The local papers recently reported that we are 6 inches below where we should be for this time of the year, in annual rainfall amounts. Often times it seems as if we are getting fairly consistent rain storms, however these storms are not producing the needed amounts of rain.

This means that we need to be continuing to water, and Virginia Green Lawn Care suggests watering at least two to three times a week, with an output of ¾ of an inch to an inch with each watering session.

Virginia Green goes Green to Help the Environment!

In an ongoing effort to do our part for the environment, Virginia Green Lawn Care, in cooperation with VDACS (Virginia Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services), recently took part in a recycling program where Virginia Green recycled 400, two and a half gallon plastic containers.

Once the containers had been triple rinsed, and stripped of their labels, they were fed into a large machine that ground them up into fine pieces, bagged them, and transported them to the recycling facility to be made into new products. Virginia Green was excited to take part in this program, and looks forward to taking part in other recycling measures. Virginia Green is doing our part to "Go Green".

Check your Mailbox for Aeration and Seeding Season Information

Last week Virginia Green Lawn Care sent out letters to all of our customers informing them that we are gearing up for the Aeration and Overseeding season. These letters explained the benefits of Aerating and Overseeding a lawn, and they also gave the pricing for the property that we are treating. This is an extremely popular program for Virginia Green Lawn Care, and with a limited number of weeks in which to perform this service, we find that the spaces do book up quickly.
