Aeration and seeding season is quickly approaching...

Before we know it fall will be upon us. In the next couple of weeks Virginia Green Lawn Care will be sending out letters to all of our customers informing them that it is time to start thinking about Aerating and Overseeding their lawns. This letter will provide the cost to Aerate and overseed the property.

With this service Virginia Green will double aerate the property, going both North and South on the lawn, as well as East and West. Virginia Green will then put down 6 pounds of specially blended, 100% weed free seed, per thousand sq. feet. For customers that have not aerated and overseeded with Virginia Green lawn care previously, a Virginia Green Service manager will come out to the property, at no additional charge, for a seeding follow-up visit approximately 3 to 4 weeks after seeding is completed to check on the condition of the lawn. In addition, Virginia Green will provide a 5 pound bag of grass seed for customers to use to fill in any sparse areas.

You, as the customer, will be vital in the success of this program on your lawn. Virginia Green Lawn Care will provide instructions throughout the process, covering watering and maintenance requirements. If these instructions are followed, the end result will be a beautiful lawn that you will be proud to show off to your neighbors.

We cannot overstress the need for water at this time. Many lawns that we visit are showing the signs of a full day of high heat and direct sunlight. Virginia Green Lawn Care suggests watering at least two to three times a week, putting out ¾ of an inch to an inch of water with each watering session. In the absence of a rain gauge, a small tuna can placed in a couple of the zones will track the amount of water that you are putting out.
