VIRGINIA GREEN LAWN OF THE MONTH FOR MARCH 2010!
Virginia Green Lawn Care is very pleased to announce that the Buchanan family of Mechanicsville, VA is the March winner of our Lawn of the Month program. The Buchanan family began service with Virginia Green in 2008 with Aeration and Overseeding, and service on our Estate Lawn Care program. We are very pleased that the Buchanans submitted a digital photo of their property for judging, and they will receive a $50.00 credit off of a future service with Virginia Green. Their technician Nelson will also receive a gift card for his hard work. As we have mentioned in the past, we love to receive photos of our Virginia Green lawns looking their finest. If you would like to submit a current photo of your property please attach it in jpeg format to an email addressed to property@virginiagreenlawncare.com. We look forward to seeing those beautiful lawns!
WATERING TIME IS UPON US!
If you have not already done so, now is the time to have your irrigation system turned back on for the season. With the hotter weather that we have been having you will want to water your lawn in the absence of rainfall. The applications that we are doing now are liquid applications of both pre-emergents for crabgrass prevention, as well as post-emergent to take care of any existing broadleaf weeds in the lawn. We do suggest watering in these treatments to move the application down into the soil.
If you are watering your lawn with an irrigation system, please set it up to water two to three times per week. The length of time will need to be determined by measuring the amount of water. Place several flat bottomed cups or pans around the lawn. Each cup should catch .75”-1” of water. Increase or decrease the length of time per zone to catch the amount of water prescribed. Less water is not sufficient and more water is wasteful. If you are using a sprinkler and a garden hose, follow the above method and move the sprinkler to get even coverage (a battery operated timer is a great investment).
DON’T FORGET ABOUT OUR SPRING TREE AND SHRUB PROMOTION GOING ON NOW. FOR NEW CUSTOMERS SIGNING UP FOR OUR TREE AND SHRUB PROGRAM WE WILL TAKE $25.00 OFF OF YOUR FIRST TREATMENT. |
