Tree and Shrub Application #1

SNOW, SNOW AND MORE SNOW
If you are like we are here at Virginia Green, you are saying “enough already with the snow-it’s Virginia not upstate New York!” There is however a benefit to this good snow cover, and that is that it functions as an excellent insulator of the soil. Without snow, very cold temperatures can freeze the soil deeper and deeper. This could lead to damage of root systems of trees and shrubs.

This insulation effect also helps protect ground cover and plantings from alternating freezing and thawing cycles and protects from soil heaving. This snow is also helping to conserve soil moisture and when we finally thaw out the grass underneath will be green. So we will all have to be patient, but be sure, spring is around the corner!

JANUARY PROPERTY OF THE MONTH
Virginia Green Lawn Care has had the pleasure of treating the turf at Richmond’s historic Agecroft Hall since 2004 on our Estate Lawn Care program. This beautiful Tudor estate on the banks of the James River is a Richmond historical treasure and we found it to be as lovely covered in a blanket of snow, as it is in the springtime. For this reason, Agecroft Hall was chosen for our January Property of the month.

We love to receive nominations from homeowners for the Property of the month program. To nominate your property, send a high resolution photo in jpeg format to property@virginiagreenlawncare.com. The winning property will receive a $50.00 credit toward a future service with Virginia Green. The technician that services the property will also receive a gift card.

If you would like more information about Agecroft Hall you may visit their website at www.agecrofthall.com.

INFORMATION CARDS MAILED OUT WITH PREPAYMENT LETTERS
This year in an attempt to make sure that we have the most up to date information in our database, Virginia Green mailed out account update cards along with our prepayment letter. While we have received a good number of these cards back, and have updated our records accordingly, we would still like to ensure that we have your correct information.

If you could take a minute to complete the card and mail it back, or take a moment to call our office at (804)285-6200 or (757)258-1788 and verify phone numbers and email addresses that we have on file we would appreciate it. We are trying to communicate more and more with our customers via email and appreciate your help with these efforts.
