SOIL TESTING BEING DONE THIS MONTH
As Virginia Green gets ready for the upcoming lawn care season our technicians are busy taking soil samples for customers on our Estate Lawn Care Program. These samples will provide us with the pH level of the soil, acidity, and levels of plant nutrients in the soil. Once the report for a property is received back from the lab, a copy of the report, along with a letter summarizing the contents of the report, will be emailed or mailed to the property owner. These results will provide information to both the property owner, and to Virginia Green regarding the best treatment for the lawn for the upcoming season.
If you are currently a customer on our Premium Lawn Care Program and would like to have a soil analysis taken for your property we would be happy to provide this additional service to you for $20.00. PREPAY OFFER LETTERS HAVE BEEN MAILED OUT
Each year Virginia Green Lawn Care extends an offer to our residential customers to receive a discount if they prepay for their program at the beginning of the year. For 2010 the deadline for this prepayment offer is February 12, 2010. If you wish to take advantage of this offer you may either mail in a check with the bottom portion of the letter, initiate an online payment through your bank (please reference your account number), or call our office to initiate a credit card payment with your Visa, MasterCard, or American Express card. In addition to being a good offer, prepayment allows you to have one less bill in your “to pay” file each month.
ICE MELT PRODUCTS CAN DAMAGE YOUR LAWN!
With the extremely cold winter that we have been experiencing, as well as the intermittent snow storms, customers may find themselves using ice melting products on their walkways and driveways. These products are fine to use, however please make sure that they are applied only to non-grassy surfaces. Excessive exposure to ice melt products can harm grass.
PROPERTY OF THE MONTH PROGRAM RESTARTING FOR A NEW YEAR
In 2009 Virginia Green introduced our Property of the Month program and due to a great response we will be continuing this program throughout 2010. For those of you that may be unfamiliar with the program the following is an overview of how the program works.
1. Each month from the 1st through the 15th of the month Virginia Green Lawn care technicians and property owners may submit a property for that month’s judging. If you are a property owner please email a current high resolution digital photo of the property in jpeg format, along with your name and address to property@virginiagreenlawncare.com. You may submit your property as many times as you wish during a calendar year, however if you are chosen as the winning property for any month, your property is not eligible for resubmission until the following calendar year.
2. Internal voting will take place at Virginia Green prior to the end of the month and the winning property will be featured in the following month’s newsletter.
3. The property owner of the winning submission will receive a $50.00 credit toward and upcoming service with Virginia Green and the technician that services the property will receive a gift card.
