MULCHING TIME IS COMING SOON
Along with any spring planting and weeding that you do, Virginia Green Lawn Care suggests applying new mulch to your bedded areas each spring. Any old mulch should be removed prior to adding new much for best results. Then apply a 3 to 4 inch layer throughout the bed, without applying too much around the base of the plants and shrubs. Mulch should be 2 to 3 inches away from the collar of the plant.

Dyed mulch will retain its color longer than a natural mulch, and pine bark has a tendency to float, and may be moved by extensive rain. Double shredded hardwood mulch that is treated will work very nicely for this project. For more information regarding applying mulch, or other lawn care issues please feel free to contact our office.

SNOW IS GONE- LAWNS ARE CLEAR AGAIN
All of that old piled up snow is finally clear, and the green grass is finally reappearing. Now is the time to enjoy the nice weather and to remove any leaves and debris that had been trapped under the snow. The heavier snow that we had in the last month served to break off many smaller dead branches from the trees that should now be removed from the lawn. Also, if you had any remaining leaves remaining on the lawn prior to the snowfall, please get those up now as well. Your efforts now will show in the health of your turf as the spring progresses.
