VIRGINIA GREEN LAWN CARE HAS BEGUN APPLYING PREVENTATIVE FUNGICIDES!
Starting yesterday, Virginia Green lawn care began applying the first in our series of three fungicide applications for customers on our Estate Lawn Care program.
This liquid application consists of two systemic fungicides and an herbicide for sedges. The Estate program, and the fungicide applications, are carefully designed to begin applying protection from lawn diseases, such as brown patch and dollar spot, as soon as we feel that conditions are present. We then maintain this coverage on the lawn throughout the season.
Virginia Green Lawn Care recommends the following practices to minimize the potential for disease development and spreading:

Water early in the mornings, generally between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. is the best time. This also helps remove the dew, a host for disease development.

Water the lawn until it starts to puddle, then stop watering. Watering may not be required for several days after this type of application. We do not recommend 10 to 15 minutes per zone, every other day. This creates a shallow root zone and therefore weak turf during hot weather.

Mow your lawn on the highest setting, and only when it is dry. Mowing the lawn when it is wet can spread any disease that is present.
