It is called Poa annua, and Virginia Green Lawn Care offers a supplemental treatment for this annual grassy weed. Due its life cycle, treatment needs to take place in late November or early December. WEED CONTROL TREATMENTS THIS FALL
After the exceedingly hot, dry summer that we had in our area, many of our Virginia Green customers chose to take the opportunity this fall to rejuvenate their lawns with Aeration and Seeding. With the aeration of the lawn, and breaking that weed control barrier, we do expect to see weeds appear in the lawn along with the new grass. Our current application is strictly a granular fertilization, with no weed control that would harm the growth of the new seed. The final application of the year however, will include weed control, along with a fertilizer, to ready the lawn for the upcoming winter season.
WINTERIZING YOUR IRRIGATION SYSTEM!
It is hard to imagine that cold weather is coming with the weather that we are having in our area this week, however we all know that it will come. For those Virginia Green customers that have an irrigation system, we suggest that you contact your irrigation company now to set an appointment to winterize your system. We do suggest that you schedule this appointment for late November, around Thanksgiving time. This will allow you to have your system available for any warm days to water in the absence of rainfall.
