MAY 2011 LAWN OF THE MONTH WINNER
Virginia Green Lawn Care was excited to have many beautiful entries for our Lawn of the Month program for May and it was difficult to choose just one winning property. The Ambler family of Richmond was chosen as the winning property for May and their lawn looks just beautiful. The Amblers began service with Virginia Green in April of last year on our Premium Lawn Care program and then switched to our Estate Lawn Care Program to take advantage of the additional services provided. As the winning property they will receive a $50.00 credit toward their next service and their technician Chris S. will also receive a gift card. WEATHER HAS BEEN EXTREMELY HOT- WATER ACCORDINGLY
As we all know, temperatures have been in the 90’s in our area for the last two weeks and the lawns are requiring moisture. In the absence of significant rainfall, Virginia Green suggests watering ¾ of an inch to an inch of water, several times each week. You should water first thing in the morning, prior to 9 a.m., for the maximum benefit to the lawn. We do not suggest watering in the afternoon or early evening.
FUNGICIDE APPLICATIONS ARE BEING APPLIED TO ESTATE LAWN CARE PROPERTIES
With the onset of warmer, more humid evenings, Virginia Green Lawn Care began applications of fungicides to our Estate Lawn Care customers last week, as a preventative measure to protect the lawns against lawn diseases. On the Estate Lawn Care program customers should expect to see us on their lawn again for the second of three fungicide applications within 30 days, and again 30 days later for the third and final fungicide. With Fungicide application #2 we will also be applying a grub control product to treat the grubs in their larval stage, interrupting their life cycle.
